Xfbdev is a display server for the X Window System Protocol Version 11 that that uses the framebuffer provided by the Linux framebuffer device.

It works in x86_32 and x86_64 architectures.

Xvesa doesn't use configuration file like Xorg.

  • it doesn't support DPMS
  • only supports Latin-1 keyboard keymaps

in order to have working framebuffer you need to add bootcode to you Linux bootloader.

If you don't have /dev/fb0, thit means framebuffer was not turn on.
