dCore Desktop Quicky
The basic installation consists of kernel and initrd with an appropriate boot stanza. To get a graphic desktop a desktop boot code needs to be added (eg. desktop=flwm) and the following steps applied.
May optionally use the -r
flag (eg. sce-import -b -r Xprogs
) to extract the Debian ('*.deb') files in RAM. The -b
flag used below ensures the newly created SCE extensions are loaded when booting the system.
- Run
tce-setdrive
to set up /tce partition that will contain dCore's data files. - Run
sce-import -b Xprogs
to install software needed for graphics.- Optionally run
sce-import graphics-$(uname -r)
for additional graphics drivers
- Run
sce-import -b xorg-all
to install all X.org graphic drivers- Optionally review reduce to the necessary drivers for your specific system.
- Run
sce-import -b wbar
to install the wbar program launcher. - Run
sce-import -b flwm_topside
orsce-import -b flwm
to install a variation of the FLWM (Window Manager). - As indicated above, ensure the correct desktop boot code is added to the boot loader (eg. desktop=flwm).
