dCore Desktop Quicky

The basic installation consists of kernel and initrd with an appropriate boot stanza. To get a usable X11 desktop, one needs to add the boot-code desktop=flwm and type out the following commands.

Optionally, use the -r-flag for sce-import to extract the '.deb'-files in RAM. The -b-flag makes the extensions be loaded when booting the system.

  1. tce-setdrive (to set up the partion to contain the data-files)
  2. sce-import -b Xprogs
    • optionally: sce-import graphics-$(uname -r) for additional graphics drivers
  3. sce-import -b xorg-all
  4. sce-import -b wbar
  5. sce-import -b flwm_topside or sce-import -b flwm (depending on screen format and/or your taste)

Then restart the system and it will boot into a graphical desktop.
